Booz Allen Wins $82.9 Million Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Contract Task Order from Department of Homeland Security

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- To help Federal agencies stay ahead of evolving Cyber security threats, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (GSA FEDSIM) have selected Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) to fulfill Task Order 2D of the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program (CDM Task Order 2D). The contract - valued at $82.9 million over three years - is the second CDM Task Order award for Booz Allen under the DHS CDM Program.

When combined, Booz Allen's two CDM contracts cover almost 70 percent of the Federal IT enterprise, and exemplify Booz Allen's strategic focus to help organizations identify and reduce cyber vulnerability risks.

"The award of this second CDM Task Order is a testament to the vision and expertise of Booz Allen's Cyber team," said Thad Allen, an Executive Vice President at Booz Allen. "Our deep technical knowledge and history in the cyber security world position us well to meet the requirements that DHS and FEDSIM have laid out for implementing CDM."

CDM Task Order 2D expands the scope of Booz Allen's work with DHS to implement tools and approaches to identify and strengthen vulnerabilities in the cyber environments of six Federal agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of the Treasury, General Services Administration, NASA, Social Security Administration, and the US Postal Service. As with the previous Task Order, Booz Allen's winning approach combined a strong systems engineering heritage of technical and management processes with leading edge commercial tools to identify and prevent vulnerabilities.

"The agencies covered in CDM Task Order 2D account for more than 700,000 Federal employees and users and more than 900,000 devices in nearly 60 separate organizations and teams," said Brad Medairy, Senior Vice President and Officer in Charge for the Task Order. "The work that these agencies carry out on a daily basis is vital to the country, and we are focused on helping them become more secure while not disrupting day-to-day operations. It is an honor to have been selected as the best organization to help them do this."

"Our approach with this work, as with our other CDM work, is to use a common set of processes and tools, and deploy and calibrate them to meet each Agencies' unique mission and needs," said Rob Allegar, Principal at Booz Allen and Solutions Architect for the task order. "The biggest focus is getting the right systems in place that give these Agencies visibility into the vulnerabilities and threat-actor activity occurring in their environments. With this data at their fingertips, they can take action to protect against current threats. It also lays the foundation to enable agencies to eventually use collective intelligence to help predict where future threats may originate."

With the award of Task Order 2D from the DHS, Booz Allen is now engaged to assist 13 separate Federal agencies to implement CDM systems and capabilities for a total contract value of up to $119.9 million over the next three years.
