Department of Defense Awards Booz Allen Essential Role on $8.27B Contract to Research, Develop and Implement Chemical and Biological Defenses

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- With the growing threat of weapons of mass destruction, it has never been more important for the U.S. military to possess sufficient means to prevent and respond to this threat. The mission of the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical Biological Defense (JPEO CBD) is to protect the nation's armed forces from weapons of mass destruction by equipping them with the latest chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) defense equipment and capabilities. To support this mission, the Department of Defense has awarded Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) a spot on the $8.27 billion Joint Enterprise Research Development, Acquisition and Procurement (JE RDAP) IDIQ contract to strengthen the nation's CBRNE defense systems and capabilities.
